Almost 100 years ago, in 1920, 256 Main Street sold what was then the latest and greatest of new technologies-- the automobile. The building was a Ford dealership. The black and white tiled part of the space was the salesroom where lucky buyers bought their status symbols and ditched their horses and buggies. The rest of the space showed off the gleaming cars and the vision of the future.
Now, this beautiful open space is home to art and artisanry. We are using our hands to make one of a kind things--to use, to view and to enjoy.
